Crystal cave virus.
About a kilometer from Chihuahua, Mexico's beautiful city is a series of rocky mountains, known as the Sierra de Naica.
Excavations were taking place here in 2000, going downhill through a series of natural caves. Many miners were involved in the campaign.
When they came down about a thousand feet while digging, they suddenly felt as if they were in a new world. Surrounding them was a cave-shaped cave made of white semi-transparent gypsum crystal walls, floor and ceiling, measuring ninety feet long and thirty feet wide.
The scene was reprimanded by them. They were such magnificent crystals that each one of them had a length of 36 feet and weighed up to fifty thousand kilograms.
Only a few scientists were given access to the cave after it was discovered.
Juan Manuel Gracia Ruiz, a geologist at the University of Granada in Spain, was among the fortunate scientists who were granted access to the cave. He researched and estimated the age of the crystals of the cave. These crystals were 25 million years old.
This was the time when the volcano laid the foundation of these mountains. The underground cave came into being and filled with hot water filled with minerals. Due to the volcanic lava, the water temperature remained at 58 degrees Celsius. This temperature is ideal for turning minerals into crystals. The crystals have gone into incredible shape due to the temperature being at a level for thousands of years.
Curtis Suttle, another scientist at the University of British Columbia in 2009, visited the Crystal Cave. Curtis was a marine biologist and virology specialist.
He brought him to the university to sample and test the water contained in the cave pond.
Curtis was not interested in rocks, neither crystals nor minerals. He was interested in just one thing and that item was a virus. As an ordinary scientist might hear it, it would be foolish to imagine a cave that had been cut off from the biological world for millions of years from its formation, what was the function of any living thing there. But not knowing Curtis Steele, it seemed as if there were some very surprising facts hidden in these specimens.
Upon arriving at the university lab, he saw these water samples through a powerful microscope. And.... And.... What an incredible sight when he saw a relay of virus relay in a drop of water ... So many numbers ... amazing.... So amazing ...
Twenty million viruses in just one drop.
Where did this virus come from? How did it continue to divide and grow? And how safe are you after so long? Many questions like this and the like have been raised. Of course, these viruses belong to the sea of the kidney and they must have been infected with some organism.
Until 2013, the cave discovered more unique microbes, most of which belong to the bacteria that were first discovered. These bacteria may be good hosts for the virus. And thanks to them they have been able to reach such a large number. There are many possibilities, but one thing is for sure and that is that we have a lot to know about the virus right now. There are many secrets to uncover.
